This September and October, artists from around the country will come together for the 4rd annual Southern Fried Circus Fest! Located in Dallas, Texas, SFCF is a multi-disciplinary 9-day festival featuring aerial and ground workshops, lectures, performances, and panel discussions from world-renowned artists.
In addition, SFCF will serve as an act development showcase for circus artists from around the country to perform an act in a non-competitive setting and receive feedback from expert panelists!
This act development showcase will feature all levels from amateur to professional. You will receive constructive comments ranging from character development, showmanship, technicality, originality & more. This is an excellent chance to develop yourself and your act.
The festival itself will be held September 29th - October 7th, 2018. The first weekend will be dedicated to our performers showcase where amateur through professional aerialists will perform and receive feedback from the audience and industry professionals. The rest of the time will feature workshops, lectures and panel discussions. The week will consist of performance intensives and classes.
For those interested in the performance aspect, video submissions of your act will be due by midnight on July 31st. Submissions should be the act that you intend to perform at the festival in whatever stage you are currently in with it. Acts can range from partial routines and first drafts to completed acts and polished performances. We will be provide feedback from industry professionals and your final act performance will be held in the first days of the festival. There will be a panel of professional aerialists from around the country to give feedback, as well as the option for audience feedback. Submissions will be accepted for silks, lyra, trapeze, cyr, straps, corde lisse, adagio, hammock & more.
Solo and duo acts welcome.
